Chapter 18

Melissa smiled at him as he put her back down on the dance floor.

" Want to join me upstairs? " Criss said waiting for a reaction from Melissa.

She became flustered but still held his right hand

" ....To the Vip section." Criss said then gave her a charming smile . He threw his right arm around her.

Criss tried so hard not to laugh.

Melissa gave him a closed mouthed smile.

" Criss...don't you dare say anything." Melissa said as they started walking toward the stairs.

" I ...I wasn't going to." Criss said letting out a chuckle.

Chapter 19

" Sorry about what a sweaty mess I am right now. Note to self never wear a suit when doing intense choreography." Criss said as he requested a bottle of water and then his favorite beverage.

" It's ok. It was impressive what you did out there on the dancefloor." Melissa said .

" Thank you. I possess many talents." Criss said taking a chug out of his water bottle.

" Ok Criss. " Melissa said as she rolled her eyes looking away.

" It's true...wow....(Criss giggled but the music was too loud to hear him)...great to know where you're mind's at." Criss said.

" Well I read such juicy stories plastered across every trashy tabloid about you. You certainly are pretty proud of yourself for being with A list actress after A list actress. You are a poster child for a bad boy if I ever spotted one." Melissa said.

Criss just smiled.

Chapter 20

" Well the night's not long enough to address all the rumors...." Criss joked.

" Seriously though, the truth behind them is rather boring. I hardly cut time out for myself. " Criss said sipping his drink.

Criss's phone rang, his an ex -girlfriend was calling, Criss hung up the call.

" An ex? I saw you cringe there for second." Melissa said.

" Yeah...forgot to delete her number which I am doing right now. Hold on." Criss said doing just that.

" Please don't tell me you're flying back home on Sunday." Criss said leaning towards her.

" Aww. You're already becoming attached to me? Awww. " Melissa said and didn't answer his question.

" Melissa...I wanted to know..." Criss started to say.
He was interrupted by a few of his guy friends that found him.

Criss's attention was taken away from her for a few seconds. This gave her the cue to get up and leave. She had her fun, she knew when to make an exit as far as celeb encounters were concerned.

Criss joked and chatted with his friends for a lengthy period of time and once they left him, she had vanished.

Criss looked around like a fool in the VIP area around him for her. His friends asked him what was wrong. He said, " Have you seen a gorgeous young woman go by here about that height?" Criss asked in all seriousness.

His friends looked at him for a second then laughed.

" You just described every woman in this freakin club! Could you be a bit more specific?" One of his guy friends joked.

Criss blushed but let out a fake laugh.

Chapter 21

" Crap. Where'd she freakin go?" Criss thought to himself as he looked around.

He went down stairs , part of the way to scope the crowd alittle better.

Criss went to the DJ booth and asked for the mic. The DJ thought he was joking. He wasn't.

" Hey all you beautiful people out there on the dance floor, it's Criss Angel, and...(the crowd hollared)... and I just wanted to know if a certain young,gorgeous woman I was talking to earlier by the name of Melissa is still in this club. It seems that she has some magical tricks up her sleeve because she has vanished and broken my heart in the process. So Melissa , if you're out there and ladies don't rush the booth claiming to be her cause I know what she looks like. Mel please come up to the DJ booth. " Criss said then giggled as he handed the mic back to the DJ.

Melissa was in the ladies bathroom washing her hands when Jane came bursting in.

" This is a sentence I never thought I'd say to you in my life. Criss Angel is looking for you girl. Now come on." Jane said dragging her out. Melissa managed to grab a couple of paper towels .

Chapter 23

" I can't hear a freakin thing in that place.......hi how are you Melissa?" Criss asked once in one of many corridors outside the club.

" Great. Yourself?" Melissa replied.

" Do you want to have dinner with me tomorrow night? " Criss asked.

" Hmmm let me check my schedule......hmmmmmm." Melissa said looking at her Blackberry which made Criss curious of what she did for a living that would allow her to obtain one of these organizational toys.

" Wow. This never happens ...um..." Criss taken back she was actually checking her planner.

" I have a spa appointment at 4pm ......then...I'm joking Criss. Dinner tomorrow works for me. " Melissa said .

" It's a date then...." Criss said making sure they were both being clear.

" It's a date." Melissa said as she put her Black berry away. Criss leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on the lips and said good bye but kept looking at her as he started to walk away . Walking backwards slowly for a few steps.

Melissa was occassionally looking back at Criss ...she neglected to see the wall she was approaching and ran into it hard and fell to the ground.

Criss heard the thud and crashing sound of Melissa falling and her Blackberry crashing to the ground.

"Ohhh. Omg ....are you ok?" Criss asked. He helped her up trying not to laugh.

"Ow. Dang. I think so. Thanks for helping me up. I'll send you my medical bill..." Melissa joked.

Criss quietly laughed.

" Don't you watch where you're going?" Criss teased .

" Hey ! You distracted me!" She said playfully hitting him.

Chapter 24

" Are you ok to get back to your room or should I escort you? Has your memory been affected? Do you remember where your room is?" Criss teased continuing to ask her a million questions as they walked to the elevators.

" Criss, I'm fine. I think I'll live. Man you are going to be nothing but trouble for me aren't you?" Melissa said as she stood in the elevator car and Criss stood in the lobby just outside the door.

Criss just smiled then blew her a kiss before the doors closed.

" Good Lord...I just came here for a fun week with Jane. Now I'm going on a date with a Vegas headliner...." Melissa said shaking her head looking at her reflection in the car doors on the way up to her hotel room.

" Ow...my head still freakin hurts." Melissa said putting her hand on her head .


Jane was confused when she opened the door to see her friend nursing the bump on her head.

" What the heck happened to you?" Jane said in between laughs.

" I'm sorry. Aww Mel." Jane said giving her a hug pulling her into the room.

" Well I'm going out with Criss Angel . " Melissa declaratively announced.
Jane gasped loudly.

" Ohhh that's so great! Omg. How exciting! He asked you out to dinner right? Oh Mel this is so incredible!!!!!!!!! Think of the draw his name will bring with the launch of our clothing line! " Jane said.

" Woah. Wait a minute! That's not why I agreed to see him and we're only here a week....and this in no way turning into a long -term thing. " Melissa said searching for a ice bag for her head or aspirn and ultimately gave up and went for the phone to order them from room service.

" Melissa , you've got to be seen out and about with this guy....and plus the line we sell is in line with his well "style" his fans and fans of our line will be drooling over this and we'll move product faster than ever before. Just see him for like hmmmmm six months. I don't see a down side to this at all. Plus he's not that bad to look at . You gotta admit that Mel." Jane said.

" What if one person develops feelings for the other? What then?" Melissa asked.

" Oh we'll worry about that bridge when we cross it. " Jane said very dismissively.

" You know you could just stay single? Be the eternal bachelor?" Costa suggested as Criss put him on speaker on his cell phone as he changed into fresh clothes.

" I could. And frankly, life is alittle more fun that way but after a while it gets old. Heck, I'm getting old. You're well..." Criss said then supressed his laughter.

" Hey! Hey! I'm not that........alright you're right I'm old but hey so are you! You're not in your twenties anymore." Costa said.

" I find this woman interesting, she amuses me and I want to see where the relationship could go. I'm....I'm lonely. I guess I'm just feeling alittle bit lonely." Criss said as he took the phone off speaker.

" I hope to find my better half soon. Don't ever tell anyone I just said that to you." Criss said, he continued to chat with his brother for another twenty minutes. Criss flipped his cell phone closed and wiped his tears away.
