Finally I had the time to update! It's rough, but I'm slowly getting back into the swing of it. Hope you guys like it!“What happened here? Criss?” Christy stared in bewilderment at his presence. “When did you get here and why was my sister running away from you?” She was confused, lost in the bass, lights, and liquor. “Please tell me you didn’t pull some scary on her.”
“I, I uh…” What did he just do? The old saying ‘never judge a book by its cover had crawled its way back into the part of his brain where there is no filter. Without another word, he ran passed Christy, through the crowd.
“I gotta find her.” What he said not only hurt her, but hurt himself.
-Two Hours Later-
Christy unlocked the front door, only to discover it was already unlocked.
“Andy? You here?” She heard frantic footsteps towards the back of the house. “Andy…” she whispered as she bolted back to her room. When Christy walked in, she saw Andy’s suitcase on the bed, half full.
“Is there a reason you stormed out, leaving me in the city?! I had NO idea where you went to! Why, why did you come back without me?” Her frantic voice had little effect on Andrea.
“I don’t know, sis! Why don’t you ask your little friend.”
“Whatever he did, I am sorry. I can’t control the he pulls around people, its public ground.” She continued to find the words for Andrea to stop packing. Excusing his behavior was not the proper way to clean this mess up. Andrea stopped packing her bags and stared at her sister in shock.
“You don’t even know what he said, do you? You know what, I have things to pack. Go kiss his ass in person, ‘cause I’d rather not hear your petty excuses.”
“You didn’t stick around long enough to tell me what was going on! The BOTH of you ran out of there. I thought he did something that freaked you out. Did he insult you or something?” Christy explained. She sat down on the bed next to Andrea’s suitcases, hoping it’s just a ploy to scare her, or just a cry for attention.
Andrea scoffed in disbelief.
“That coward said nothing to you? No apology? Nothing?” Andrea couldn’t understand much at this point. Her head being flooded with anger, sadness, and the past, she had no room for him to be a part of it. Christy was still lost in the conversation.
“Listen, you BOTH walked out on me without explaining, neither you, and NO, not even him. Can you just stop for a minute and just talk to me?” Andrea attempted to block out her sisters voice while she packed the last of her things. Christy stood up and grabbed what was in her hand before she could put it in her bag. Andrea stared at her with glassed eyes. What he said hurt her, bad.
“He was rude, ok. Just plain rude.”
“Could you be more specific, please? Rude as in pulling some hocus pocus crap or rude as in he said something that didn’t suit to your liking?”
Andrea sarcastically laughed under her breath. “You’re friend has a smart mouth he needs to watch.”
“I interviewed him once, Andi!”
“Well, he’s an ass! Stick that in your interview!” She quickly zipped up her suitcase and stomped her way to the front door. Christy began to wonder if this was still a simple ploy to get her sisters attention that she was never really going to go back to Manhattan.
“I get it now, so please just put down the suitcase.” Christy pleaded as she followed one angry sibling to the door. Andrea planted her feet firm to the ground and turned around to face her sister.
“One, you are not the boss of me! I may live with you, but you have no control over my actions. I need to get away from here!” Andrea grabbed the door handle. She suddenly found her arm in her sisters grip turning her around to look her in the eyes.
“Do not do this! You cannot keep running away from these kinds of things!”
“I am not running away! You plucked me away from the one thing I miss most, and thanks to what’s-his-face, it’s just a constant reminder that I will never have him back. You may think it gets easier for me, well guess what Christy; it doesn’t!” Andrea scolded. “If you even DARE follow me, you can guarantee that I won’t return! If you love me at all, you will let me go!”
Trace was the constant reminder to them both. Sometimes Christy forgot how fresh this wound was on Andrea. Christy slowly loosened her grip on Andrea, watching as she walked out the door to her car. Andrea needed some peace and serenity, and they always say that home is where the heart is.
Christy stepped outside as she felt the breeze of the night air. She watched a tearful Andrea speed off into the distance. Manhattan may be home to Andrea, but Long Island was where her heart belonged.
