Chapter 35 (Marital plans)

Winnie hopped into a shower real quick just to wash her hair. When she got out she got dressed in the bathroom and walked into the bedroom only to find Criss there already in bed, "So you said that you figured out the plan for the wedding?"

"Yes first I want to run the where by you", Winnie got an ear to ear grin across her face as she climbed into her side of the bed.

"Do tell".

"I was wondering what you thought about us getting married in BeLIEve's theater?"

Criss sat there for a moment, "That sounds fantastic".

"Ok well see the flowers would be white and red roses because I think that they would look get against the backdrop of the theater. I would walk down the left isle and after we are pronounced man and wife we will leave down the right isle. And the reception will be held at JD's house, if he will let us".

Criss head was spinning as he was trying to process everything, "Is that everything?"

"No I thought I would put a bit of the past four years of my life into this".

"Meaning?"

"Meaning I'm going to ask Mr. Baker if he will cater our reception".

Criss sat there and looked at Winnie and smiled, "We're really going to do this aren't we?"

Winnie smiled back, "We are".

"I can't wait".

"Neither can I. What do you say about a month from now?"

"A month… wow".

"You said that you wanted to get married as soon as possible. This way we give people ample time to RSVP".

"That sounds perfect", Criss leaned forward to give Winnie a kiss on the lips. "Now not to cut this thing short but I'm exhausted and I have to do some more filming tomorrow before BeLIEve".

They both laid down to go to sleep. Winnie was too excited to sleep so she was up until three in the morning tossing and turning before she decided to get up and fix herself a cup of hot tea.

When she walked into the living room she saw that Dimitra was sitting awake in the dark, "Hello there Dimitra".

"Oh Winnie you can't sleep either?"

"No I'm going to fix myself a cup of hot tea you want one".

"Yes please".

Winnie walked into the kitchen and started to make the tea when Dimitra started to speak again, "Winnie while we are both up, can I talk to you about something?

Winnie put water into the mugs, put them into the microwave, and set the time, "Of course let me just fix the tea".

Chapter 36 (A cathartic talk)

After the tea was fixed Winnie walked over to the couch and sat next to Dimitra, "So what do you want to talk about?"

"Winnie as a mother I worry about my boys all of the time and when one of them gets hurt by any means I feel a gaping whole in my heart. I just wish that there was a way that I could take the pain and make it go away. Winnie when you left Christopher became deeply depressed. I didn't know what I could do".

"Dimitra I…"

"Let me finish, the last time I had seen him like that was when his father passed away. He didn't deserve that. I am skeptical that you will stay this time. Another thing is I considered you more then just my sons' girlfriend. I had come to consider you a friend of mine, that's what I meant by you not only leaving him".

"I know that there is nothing I can do to make all of that go away, but I'm here now".

"I know that but how do I know that you aren't going to leave him again".

"Just trust me when I say that I didn't like to leave the first time. I was depressed myself I wouldn't do that again. I love him so much and I also considered you a friend and would still like to be yours. That's why I want to ask you if you would like to be one of my bridesmaids?"

Dimitra sighed, "Let me thing about it".

The two of them started talking about Winnies wedding plans taking sips of tea.

Chapter 37 (Forgiveness is a virtue)

When Criss woke up early the next morning he was surprised to walk into the living room and find his fiancé and his mom both asleep on the couch. He walked over to the kitchen and quietly poured himself a bowl a cereal.

Despite Criss' efforts Winnie woke up and carefully got off of the couch and quietly walk behind Criss, "Morning".

Criss jumped, "Whoa".

"I'm sorry did I scare you?"

"No I have my own special brand of Tourettes", Criss said sarcasticly.

"Ha ha you're so funny. So what is on the agenda today?"

"Well it's to the gym, the production office, and then BeLIEve".

"So it's a busy day huh?"

"Maybe we can meet for lunch and dinner".

"That sounds good".

"What are you going to do today?"

"Fly by the seat of my pants".

Criss raised an eyebrow, "What?"

"It's what Julia Roberts' friend says in Pretty Woman".

"Ok then", Criss started rubbing Winnies arms. "I think that you should call Jenni and tell her you forgive her".

"I don't know if I do".

"You need to she is all the family you have".

Winnie looked down and slowly walked up to Criss and wrapped her arms around his waste, "I know".

"Ok now that I have saved the day I need to go pump me up", Criss made a couple of signature body builder moves, gave Winnie a kiss goodbye, and walked out the door.

Winnie walked over to her phone and walked into the bedroom. She didn't know what to say to Jenni, but she dialed anyway. Jenni answered, "Hello?"

"Hey Jenni".

"Oh hi Winnie. What's up?"

"Jenni I realize that you had a reason for making a move on Criss, but that doesn't mean that I have to like it. Jenni I don't care that he and I weren't together the first time, but I do care that we were the second time. I just don't understand that you would continue to do that. I mean we may not be extremely close but we are sisters".

"Winnie I am really sorry".

"I know you are Jenni, but why would you do that to me?"

"I know that this is going to sound lame, but I couldn't stop myself".

"Jenni that's the thing you are my older sister you should have been able to control yourself at least the second time!" Winnie had to take a deep breath to stop herself from flying completely off the handle. "Jenni look I didn't call you to yell I called to invite you to mine and Criss' wedding".

"Oh you two are getting married?"

"Yeah a month from now".

"Where at?"

"I'll give you the details as they come", Winnie didn't feel like explaining Criss' show to Jenni considering that she didn't feel like talking to her in the first place. Winnie heard Dimitra moving around in the living room, "Well I have to go now talk to you later".

"Bye Winnie".

Winnie hung up the phone and walked into the living room where she found Dimitra messing around in the kitchen, "Morning Winnie what's wrong?"

"That son of yours made me talk to my sister".

"Oh a sibling rift?"

"Yes and I don't feel like talking about it".

"Then I won't make you".

"I should wake Arista up".

"Well I need to get going anyway. It was nice talking to you last night".

"I really think that I needed that talk and I am glad that we cleared the air".

"I think so too. Well I guess that I'll be seeing you". Dimitra walked out the door.

Chapter 38 (Poor baby)

"Arista sweetie time to wake up!" Winnie hollered as she walked into Arista bedroom.

"Mommy I don't feel good".

"Let me feel your forehead. Oh my sweetheart you are burning up. Go back to bed I'm going to see if your daddy has thermometer and some medicine". Winnie walked into the bathroom to inspect the medicine cabinets. "Advil, Tylenol, but no Nyquil or Dayquil and no sign of any thermometers". She got on her cell and called Criss.

"Hey Winnie".

"Criss I need for you to pick up some Dayquil, Nyquil, and a thermometer".

"What's wrong?"

"Arista is sick".

"I'm leaving right now", Criss hung up the phone faster than Winnie could thank him.

Criss arrived in the room faster then Winnie had expected, "Here's the thermometer".

Winnie put the thermometer in Arista's mouth, "Oh my goodness her fevers 104".

Criss stroked the side of is daughters face, "My poor baby girl".

"Now I know what my day is going to be like".

"I staying here".

"Criss no".

"Yes, I'm her father".

"Yeah but that doesn't mean that you have to stay here. I mean taking care of a sick child is a one man job".

"I just feel like I should be here".

"All you have to do is call to check up on her and get me what she needs".

"Are you sure?"

"Yes I'm sure. Now you have things that you need to do today, so why don't you take a shower?"

"Alright", Criss got up and took his shower.

Winnie grabbed the Dayquil and poured the two tea spoons forcing Arista to drink it down. She made sure to keep giving Arista cold wash cloths until Criss got out of the shower. She took a look in the fridge and saw that Criss didn't have the right kinds of liquids, Criss would have to run and get some quickly.

As soon as Criss got out of the shower she gave him her list. This contained water, tea bags, and an herbal bath oil muscle relaxer that worked best if it had the scent of eucalyptus. Winnie had Arista take all of her clothes off so that she might be more comfortable. When Criss arrived back at the suite Winnie ran a warm bath and poured some of the relaxer into the water. Criss carried Arista and gently placed her into the bathtub. Winnie left to get her some pedia-lite and they both left the room.

"Has she ever been this sick before?"

"No, but she'll be fine".

"You sure about that?"

"I promise it. Now you need to go feed your Loyals hunger. I'll call you if anything happens".

"I feel so guilty just leaving her like this".

"Well Christopher don't. There's no need for you to".

Criss wrapped his arms around Winnie's shoulders and pulled her into a hug, "I love you".

Winnie returned the hug, "I love you too"

Criss gave her a kiss on the forehead and reluctantly walked out the door.

Criss walked into the production office with a few minuets to spare, so he pulled out a deck of cards and began to shuffle them, just to give his hands something to do. When the meeting started everyone noticed that he was detached. JD took it upon himself to ask Criss what was bothering him, "Hey little brother".

"Hey JD".

"So what's going on you seem like you would rather be somewhere else?"

"Arista is sick and I just feel like I should be up there with Winnie taking care of her".

"Well there is only so much that you can do to help someone get over a fever Criss".

"I know, but I just feel so helpless".

"That's natural, but you need to just let Winnie handle this or you might just end up getting in the way".

"Yeah you're right", after saying this Criss' phone rang. "Hello. Winnie what are you saying you need to slow down. What's going on?" Criss got a concerned look on his face. "I'll be right there", Criss stood up. "Guys I have to cut this meeting short my daughter was just admitted to the hospital".

As Criss was making his way out of the office JD grabbed his arm, "What happened?"

Criss looked at him, "Arista started coughing up blood a couple of minuets after I left".

JD stared at him, "I'm coming with you".

"JD you don't have to".

"No I don't want you to drive like this", they walked out to the valet and got into JDs car.

When they walked into the hospital JD dropped Criss off. Criss then made his way straight to the emergency room. As soon as he got to the emergency room waiting area he could see Winnie sitting in one of the chairs rocking back and forth. When he walked into the area Winnie made her way to Criss. She wrapped her arms around his chest and started to cry. Criss stood there and held her as she cried.
