Chapter 5 (Broken Carriage)

When Winnie arrived at The Hot Rod she found Lindsay sitting on one of the bar stools just spinning around and around in boredom.

"I found my castle!" Winnie yelled through the empty dinner.

"Huh?" Lindsay said drolly.

"Well you know how in Fairy Tales like Snow White, always have these gorgeous castles in them… Well I found mine!" Winnie smiled.

"Oh", Lindsay said remembering that Winnie was going to go house hunting. "And ah speaking of Fairy Tales…your Knight-in-shinning armor stopped by."

All of the excitement in Winnies face drained out, "Did he say anything?"

"He just asked where you were."

"Oh", Winnie said looking down at her feet and messing with her fingers.

"You need to talk to him Ellie May, and tell him why you left. For both of your sakes."

"I don't know Moony."

Lindsay got a puzzled look on her face, "You know you never actually told me what went on between you both, not really."

Winnie looked out the windows and could hear the voices from that night.

"Hold on Winnie, wait."

"I can't."

"Just tell me what's going on."

"I'm sorry."

Comes back "I don't want to say right now."

Lindsay just shrugged, "Okay, so tell me more about this castle of yours." She said leaning on the counter, resting her chin in her fist.

"Well it's a two bedroom, two bath, fully refurbished, with a dishwasher…"

"Wait, wait, wait…it has indoor pluming? Hold on", Lindsay got real serious, "Does it have a cement pond?" Lindsay busted out laughing.

"You know I don't have to take this kind of verbal abuse, I'm going home to fix myself a Bloody Mary."

"Don't forget to fix you a heapin' helpin' of possum stew," Lindsay yelled as Winnie exited the dinner.

Winnie shook her head as walked towards her car. She put the key in the ignition and…
*caching, caching, caching*

Winnie hit the steering wheel, "Son of a…"

*knock, knock, knock*

Winnie looked out of her window, sat straight up, and rolled it down. Criss crossed his arms on the door, and rested his head on them.

"Howdy", Winnie scrunched up her face.
Criss gave a sleight laugh remembering how much he loved her accent, "Car trouble?"
"Just a little", Winnie indicated with her fingers.
"Well, why don't you pop the hood, and ah let me work my magic?" He said wiggling his fingers, and giving her a half smile. Winnie smiled back and did as he asked.

As he was looking her breath got heavier, and her heart pounded so hard it began to start hurting. Criss, still hovered over the hood, looked at Winnie in a way that looked quite questionable, put the hood back down, and walked back over to her.

"Well I've diagnosed the problem. The thing is, is that I don't have what I need here to fix it., so why don't I take you home, or whatever, and I'll just come back here with what I need to fix it. Sound good?"

Without hesitation or any kind of thought process what so ever, Winnie answered, "Sounds good." She undid her seat belt as he opened her car door, took her hand, and lead her to his car. When Winnie saw it she realized it was the exact same Lamborghini she had parked next to in the grocery store parking lot the other night.

Criss got into the car, buckled up, and started backing up, "So, which way do I go?"

"Take a left. I'll tell you when to turn." Winnie said looking out of the windshield.

"Alright", Criss answered looking her up and down, as he took a left out of the parking lot.

As they approached a red light, still concentrating heavily on the darkly tinted windshield Winnie nervously said pointing, "Take a left."

Criss jumped back narrowly missing Winnies extending arm. He raised his left eyebrow, grabbed her arm putting it back in her lap, "I think I know my left from my right, thank you." He gave a smile and a half laugh looking forward placing his hand back on the wheel, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, I feel great", Winnie said voice trembling.

"You sure you look pale", Criss said looking with a concerned brow.

"Oh yeah, RIGHT", Winnie shouted, "TAKE A RIGHT!"

Criss took a sharp right, "Jeeze Winnie."

"Sorry I'm…I'm…I'm sorry", breathes, "It's the building on the corner", She calmed down.

Criss parked the car in the street. Just as Winnie made her way out of the car, Criss caught her arm, "Wait", she looked at his hand, "We need to talk." She slowly sat back down, with her eyes transferring to the floor.

Winnie took a deep breath, "What about?"

"You know what about", she sat there, not knowing what to say. Scratch that, she knew what to say, she just didn't know how to say it. She was scared of how he would react. Winnie knew he was waiting, but hoped in vain he would let it go.

Chapter 6 (Car-Fix-Freak)

Criss asked, "Is the light on upstairs?" No answer. "Winnie I'm not going to drop this."
Winnie winced, "I don't know…"
"You don't know? Well that's a reliable enough answer."
"Criss don't get mad at me…Please", Winnie said rubbing her brow.
"Don't get mad at you, don't get mad at you…humm, okay there's a good reason. Now here's a good reason why I should… you left me, and without any reason as to why. I think I have a reason to get mad." As Criss was saying all of this, tears were forming in Winnies eyes. "Winnie if you don't want me around I will respect that, and leave you alone, I just wanna know one thing… what aren't you telling me?" At this Winnie grabbed her stomach. She tried to answer…she wanted to answer, but as Criss sat there staring at her, her breath got heavier, and next thing she knew, she was running up to her front door.

{Criss' Point of view (this will happen every so offten)}

As Winnie shut her front door Criss blinked a few times, slammed his back into the back of his seat, leaned his head back and said, "What did I just do?" He shifted from park to drive, and headed to the local auto supply store to get what he needed.

Winnie's car was a quick fix, but Criss decided to take his time so that he could gather his thoughts. Criss popped the hood and got to work.

(Flashback)
*ring, ring, ring*
Criss' hand groped in the darkness for the lamp switch. When he found it he looked at the clock, "3:00 a.m. damn," Criss said as he reached for the phone, "Hello?"
Winnie said in a rushed voice, "Criss I know it's late, but my car broke down, I'm at the side of the road, and I'm really scared, can you come get me?"
"+Pooh Bear what are you doing driving around this early in the morning?"
"Well you remember me telling you about the dance workshop out in Jersey".
Criss rubbed his eyes, "Yeah".
"Well I wanted to surprise you".
"Well if it helps I'm Surprised".
"Please come get me".
"Alright, alright where are you?"
"I'm a couple of miles outside of Levittown".
"Levittown?*sigh* I'll be right there".
"Thank you +Minue Chaton".

Criss put the hood back down, put his hands onto the top of it, closed his eyes, and leaned on it for a while. He rubbed his face, looked up with a determined brow, and stormed off to his car. He needed answers, and he needed them now.
